The Secretary General of ASEAN, Surin Pitsuwan, and the member states’ heads of delegation, have expressed their great satisfaction with the outcome of the ASEAN Awareness Forum. The Forum took place at the Foreign Ministry on 22-23 March 2012.
The Forum was the first “awareness-raising” initiative organised in Europe and involving all the ASEAN countries. During the event, the Italian business community had an opportunity to examine investment opportunities in the 10 ASEAN member states.
The event attracted representatives of numerous institutions, with the European Commission, the World Bank, the OECD, the Asian Development Bank, SIMEST, the Conference of the Regions, and the new Agency for the Promotion of Italy Abroad all taking part. Italian companies expressed great interest in the business opportunities open to them in Southeast Asia.
