Cooperation: new health sector training course in Albania

Italy is promoting a new training course in Albania for psycho-social rehabilitation professionals. The course was inaugurated in Tirana, in the presence of the Italian Ambassador, Massimo Gaiani, and the Director of the Cooperation Office, Andrea Senatori.

Under European regulations, this new occupational profile applies to personnel engaged in local services, for example sheltered housing, home care and family support services, as envisaged in Albania’s mental health reform.

The course is intended for 25-30 participants (students following the social science degree course). It is part of the project “Protecting the rights of people with chronic forms of mental illness” funded by Italian Development Cooperation and the St. Egidio Community in collaboration with the Albanian Health Ministry, the ministry for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and the Social Science Faculty at the University of Tirana.
