Cooperation: fighting drug addiction – training and education in the Maghreb

A joint initiative by the San Patrignano community and the Uninettuno International Distance Learning University on fighting drug addiction has been presented at the Foreign Ministry in Rome. Patron of the initiative is Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi. San Patrignano, Europe’s biggest anti-drugs centre, and Uninettuno have drawn up an agreement to offer a Master’s degree for “social-health operations in the drug addiction field”.

The degree course was illustrated in the presence of the former education minister, Letizia Moratti; the treatment director of San Patrignano, Dr. Antonio Boschini; the Rector of Uninettuno International Distance Learning University, Maria Amata Garito; and the Director General for Development Cooperation, Elisabetta Belloni.

The Master’s is being designed primarily for those countries in the Maghreb and the Arab world in which the drug addiction problem is growing. It will be set up not just in Italy but in all Arab League countries requesting it. Read more, in Italian.
