“This is very sad news. We have lost a brave young Italian committed to building a more secure future for our children and an Afghanistan whose people can decide on their own future”, said Minister Giulio Terzi following the bombing death in Afghanistan of a young Italian Carabiniere. “The Carabiniere’s family has our solidarity and deepest condolences, as do the other two soldiers wounded in this hideous attack”, Terzi assed, in Luxembourg for the EU Foreign Affairs Council.
The attack took place at 8:50 local time in an Afghan police training camp at Adraskan in the province of Herat. The explosion involved four Italian Corpsmen of the Police Special Training Team (PSTT). One Carabiniere was killed, two sustained leg wounds and a fourth was unharmed.
