Kabul bombings. Alfano: “Deep grief and strong closeness to the people and Government of Afghanistan”

“Once again, I express my firm condemnation for the new vile bombing performed in Kabul today, which is all the more deplorable because it was perpetrated precisely during the funeral ceremony for the son of the Vice President of the Senate. Today’s triple bombing follows by only a couple of days the other violent terrorist attack carried out in the same capital city that caused 90 victims and injured hundreds more. Italy is close to the family of the victims in their time of mourning and to the people and Government of Afghanistan. I would like to express my special sympathy to Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah and his staff, who were present today on the scene of the bombings: Italy stands by your side and continues to support you,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, in response to today’s attack in Kabul.
