Israel pays tribute to the Italian Israeli community, with a conference that traces its contribution to the birth and development of the Jewish State. Organisers of the event, to the held at Jerusalem’s Mishkenot Sha’ananim Centre, are the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Tel Aviv, in collaboration with the Hevrat Yehude’ Italia, an association of Israelis of Italian decent (Italkim), with the contribution of the Israeli Ministry of Culture and the special participation of the Puglia Region, represented by Culture and Tourism Alderman Silvia Godelli.
The conference will open on 27 June with a welcoming speech by Italian Ambassador to Israel Luigi Mattiolo, and will continue with two days of film showings, concerts, round table discussions and the participation of eminent Italian and Israeli experts from the worlds of academia, science and journalism, as well as of the Italian community in Israel.
