Syria: red line already crossed, stop the massacres, urges Terzi

“The red line has already been crossed”, asserted Minister Giulio Terzi as he arrived at the GYMNICH meeting in Pafos, referring to the Syrian crisis. “We need to concentrate in the EU on stopping these terrible massacres, which have reached an unspeakable peak of violence and that strongly threaten the stability of neighbouring countries. I think the EU is more and more engaged on the Syrian crisis, both on the humanitarian level as well as questions of security”, Terzi added.

The use of chemical weapons “is absolutely unacceptable and would carry serious consequences that some NATO countries have already anticipated”, Terzi also stated in response to the possibility that Assad might resort to chemical weapons.
