Italy and China are to collaborate in the field of radiobiology and biophysics applied to cosmic radiation, with the emphasis on industrial developments and terrestrial applications of biomedical interest. A framework collaboration agreement has been signed by ENEA, the University of Florence and the Institute of Modern Physics (IMP) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The agreement will enable collaboration and exchanges of young researchers, which are of fundamental importance to the two countries, to develop the research.
Bilateral workshop
The agreement was signed at the close of the first Italian-Chinese bilateral workshop dedicated to the study of cosmic radiation and radiobiology. The conference, which took place at the IMP in Lanzhou, in Gansu Province, was organised by the Scientific Office of the Embassy of Italy in Beijing in collaboration with ENEA, INFN and IMP-CAS, with support from the Accademia dei Lincei.
