The escalation in the tension between Israelis and Palestinians in Gaza “is very worrying”. This was Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi’s comment from Paris, where he was attending the “Weimar Plus” meeting of Foreign and Defence ministers, along with representatives of France, Germany, Poland and Spain. In Terzi’s view, “Action is needed to reduce the tensions, give Israel its security and restore a minimum of tranquillity to the Gaza Strip”.
Responding to journalists, Terzi pointed out that “120 Al Qassam missiles have been launched into southern Israel in the past few days, with serious risks for the population. […] In this context of sharp tensions”, continued the minister, “Israel reacted by eliminating the Hamas commander, Jaabari“.
