Italian Innovation Day will open Tech Week in the Silicon Valley on 12 March, designed to showcase Italian innovation in fields ranging from IT to green energy, and is sponsored by the Consulate General and the Italian Cultural Institute. The event is one of over 200 set to take place in 40 American cities over the course of 2013’s Year of Italian Culture in the USA.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi, who spearheaded the initiative, pointed to its ability to inject “new dynamism into bilateral relations” and to highlight Italy’s “public/private collaboration” model and “consciousness of a global modernity capable of drawing the best from our deep cultural roots and willingness to meet the challenges of the present and the future”.
