Italian films are being showcased in Kuwait for the first time, with the “Italian Film Festival” opening on 15 April 2013. The event was organised by the Italian Embassy in Kuwait and Cinescape Kuwait, the Gulf country’s biggest cinema chain, in collaboration with the cultural expert for the Gulf, Alessandra Priante.
Screenings will include “Benvenuti al Nord”, directed by Luca Miniero; “Pane e Tulipani”, by Silvio Soldini; and, to close the Festival, Giuseppe Tornatore’s “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”, which won the Oscar in 1990 for best foreign film. Read more, in Italian.
