Montevideo has hosted a concert by the Umberto Giordano Ensemble, led by Gianna Fratta. Entitled “Viva Verdi!”, the concert was organised by the Italian Cultural Institute as part of the celebrations for the 200th anniversary of the birth of Giuseppe Verdi. The event was attended by the Italian Ambassador, Massimo Andrea Leggeri, and First Secretary Antonio Poletti.
