The Italian archaeological team in Iran has once again been successful: led by Vito Messina of the Archaeological Research Centre of Turin (CST) and Jafar Mehrkian of the Iranian Center for Archaeological Research (ICAR), the team made a series of discoveries at Kaleh Chendar that included a brick temple set on a stone foundation; the site is part of a vast area of excavations in the country’s southwest where the team has been working since 2008.
