The Italo-Iranian Archaeological Mission in northern Khorasan is close to making a major discovery regarding the first Indo-European migration to the Iranian Plateau; excavations have revealed traces of a culture known as BMAC (Bactria-Margiana Archaeological Complex) previously identified in the Merv region of Turkmenistan.
