EU: Letta meets Van Rompuy, discussion focuses on growth


Prime Minister Enrico Letta met the President of the European Council, Van Rompuy, yesterday, 4 December 2013, at the Cabinet Office in Palazzo Chigi. The Prime Minister explained to Van Rompuy “how hard Italy is working to achieve a legislature for growth, a legislature that will start with next year’s elections for the European Parliament and with the Italian EU Presidency”. Letta continued “the December European Council is of vital importance if we are to achieve significant results, especially as regards the Banking Union, on which we intend to reach a definitive solution and the application of the decision taken in June”.
