Collaboration and synergy between the Italian Foreign Affairs, Justice and Home Affairs ministries and the Thai authorities has led to the extradition to Italy of mafia boss Vito Roberto Palazzolo. Palazzolo has been on the international “Wanted” list since the early 1990s for mafia-related crimes, and had been sentenced to 9 years in prison. He was arrested in Thailand on 30 March 2012.
