“Roots not forgotten” is the title of a conference on emigration being organised by the Italian Cultural Institute for 20 March. According to the Institute’s website, the descendents of Italian emigrants are showing new signs today of wanting to re-establish the ties that were severed with the mother country, rediscovering the pleasure of speaking the language of their origins and exploring family and cultural roots.
