The Touring Club Italiano is celebrating its 120th anniversary with an exhibition entitled “Travelling with Italy” which will run until 25 May 2014.
The initiative was organised to commemorate the Touring Club’s work to develop tourism and safeguard Italy’s artistic, historic and cultural heritage. It is also included in the protocol of understanding signed on 16 July 2013 by the Foreign Ministry and the Touring Club.
Renewing links with Italians abroad
The aim of the partnership is to strengthen and renew the links with Italy of Italian nationals abroad, whether they emigrated recently or some time ago. It does so by providing them with information about Italy and high quality tourism in our country. The project also aims to involve a broader audience of foreign tourists interested in visiting Italy.
A Touring Card for Foreign Members
The initiative consists of two key instruments: the “Touring Card” and a site providing tourists with information. The “Touring Card for Foreign Members” gives members a number of benefits. These include discounts arranged by the Touring Club – for certain destinations, restaurants etc. or for publications on tourism in Italy – and organised tours and cultural trips.
Anyone interested in joining the Association or in obtaining information or access to the benefits of membership should consult the TouringCard.it site (in Italian and English). The site can also be accessed by smartphone or tablet and, in Italy, becomes a practical aid to travellers thanks to the geo-referenced information.
