DEI/Sole 24Ore: Hong Kong: Italian jewellery exports of 795 mln USD (+ 21% annually)

Jewellery was the 4th goods sector for 2013 Italian exports to Hong Kong (after fashion/apparel, leather goods and artisan items), with a market share of 6.29% and an overall value in products exported of 795 million USD, up 21% over 2012. Especially significant was Italy’s participation in the 31st Hong Kong International Jewellery Show, one of the most important of its kind in the world, and number one in Asia, with 215 vendors displaying – a number that was up by 25% over the previous year. This year too the Italian pavilion was the largest European and Western one in terms of number of vendors, and second overall. Italy brought in the best of its national jewellery production in gold, silver, platinum, precious and semi-precious stones, cameos and coral (these latter were especially appreciated for quality and design), combining traditional artisan artistry and the most innovative design from all over Italy but in particular from Vicenza, Arezzo, Valenza and Torre del Greco.
