Exploring Pakistan’s potential as a market for investment. That’s the goal of the Italy-Pakistan Business Forum taking place in Lahore and Islamabad from 19 to 21 May 2014 as part of the “UNIDO-SMEDA-Italy Programme”. To deepen and build on the existing commercial links between the two countries, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is organising an Italian delegation to the Forum. Companies taking part will attend events with Pakistani institutions, bilateral meetings with local businesses and visits to manufacturing and business facilities of particular interest.
The Forum will examine the main sectors of Pakistan’s economy, including energy (wind, solar and biogas) and pharmaceuticals, where important Italian companies have been operating since the 1980s. Ample space will be devoted to the automobile, textile and tanning industries, some of which use Italian machinery.
Commercial relations can also open the doors of the market to Italian small and medium-sized enterprises – and area where UNIDO is working to facilitate links between Italian and Pakistani businesses.
The initiative is intended for all Italian companies interested in establishing commercial and industrial collaboration relations in Pakistan. Those wishing to take part should submit their applications to www.unido.it/form/adesione.php no later than 9 May 2014. Source: infoMercatiEsteri.
