Finmeccanica-AgustaWestland have signed a contract worth over 160 million dollars (117 million euros) for the modernisation of the Brazilian Navy’s Lynx helicopters. Work will begin in mid-2015, with the first deliveries in late 2017, and end in 2019.
The upgrades will give Brazil’s Naval Aviation a significant improvement in its capabilities, with better performance, operational range and aircraft mission effectiveness. The contract, won with support from the Italian Embassy in Brasilia, further strengthens the company’s long standing partnership with the Brazilian Navy.
