Dei/Sole 24 Ore – Mozambique: “Italian Alliance for Ports”

Mozambique: “Italian Alliance for Ports”

In coincidence with the Maputo International Trade Fair currently under way – and to which the nearly one hundred Italian firms participating were accompanied by Deputy Minister for Economic Development Calenda – the foreign ministry sponsored the launch of a work group mission to Mozambique, made up of representatives of companies and associations interested in port infrastructure development in that southern African country.
The group, known as “Italian Alliance for Ports”, was set up with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has been following major international port projects with the objective of promoting the participation of Italian sector firms interested (from design to construction, financing, management and use of port infrastructures).
The work group has identified Mozambique as a country of priority interest in consideration of the number and features of the infrastructure projects planned by the Maputo authorities, the soundness of bilateral relations – confirmed by major ENI Group investments – and the country’s growth prospects.
