Italy made a strong showing at the 42nd Norwegian International Film Festival, held recently in the city of Haugesund. Thanks to the efforts of the Italian Cultural Institute of Oslo an entire section was dedicated to contemporary Italian cinema, and no less than three made it into the main competition programme.
