Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Benedetto Della Vedova will join President of the Duqm Special Economic Zone Minister Yahya bin Said Al Jabri in the presentation on 24 September at the Farnesina of investment opportunities for Italian businesses in Oman, with a special focus of the Duqm Special Economic Zone (SEZAD Duqm).
The Duqm Special Economic Zone, established in October 2011, is located halfway between Mascate and Salalah and is a model for integrated economic development comprising 8 areas: a seaport, an industrial area, a new residential city, a fishing port, a tourist resort, a logistics centre, a professional training centre and an airport. The Duqm Zone is destined to become a major intersection for traffic in the region, a logistics hub and an industrial centre in pursuance of a multi-decade development plan, (http://www.duqm.gov.om/).
