Berlin – Exhibition “Faszination Farnesina” opens

The Berlin exhibition “Faszination Farnesina / At the origins of the European Union – Architecture and Art for the Farnesina Palace” will focus on the building that houses the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. A fascinating dialogue between the art, architecture and urban design of 1950s and 60s Rome and, specifically, the “building site” of the foreign ministry, the exhibit was recently inaugurated in the presence of Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Mario Giro and Italian ambassador to Berlin Pietro Benassi. It traces some of the least known aspects of the construction of the Farnesina Palace through a series of sketches, drawings and artworks, from completion of the design to the interiors handled by Enrico Del Debbio and the initial artistic commissions awarded by public competition.
