A 1 billion US$ contract between ATR and Indonesia’s Lion Air was signed in Rome today, 27 November 2014. ATR is the joint-venture between Finmeccanica-Alenia Aermacchi and the Airbus Group. The contract, for 40 ATR 72-600 aircraft, brings the number of ATR 72 ordered by Lion Air to 100. Deliveries will start in January 2016 and continue until December 2018. With the contract signed today with Lion Air, the number of firm orders won in 2014 rises to 155, compared with a historic record of 157 in 2011.
