United Kingdom – Italian investments standing up well to the crisis

The Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the United Kingdom will be presenting its 5th report on Italian investment in the UK at an event this evening, 9 December 2014. The report was produced in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in London and the British Chamber of Commerce in Italy, as part of the Italian EU Presidency programme. It examines the 695 Italian companies with subsidiaries or interests in the UK and shows that the financial crisis has not held back investment in the country, which remains a viable option for Italian firms.

Italy is one of the British economy’s most important investors

Italy has become one of the British economy’s most important investors, with 369 projects since 2009 and 8500 new jobs created. Key sectors are renewable energy, engineering (aerospace and automotive), and the creative and digital industries.

Tonight’s event will be opened by the Italian Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Pasquale Terracciano, with the opening letter read by Leonardo Simonelli Santi, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the United Kingdom. Read more, in Italian.
