Pianist Christian Leotta brought the first 8 of Ludwig Van Beethoven’s piano sonatas to Algiers in a recital at the Auditorium of the Radio. The event was a premier for Africa, and the first phase in a project created by the Italian Cultural Institute in collaboration with the ‘Aissa Messaoudi’ Cultural Centre for the execution of the entire 32-sonata cycle. At the age of 22 the pianist was the youngest ever to perform the complete cycle (in Montreal, 2002) after the performance of Daniel Barenboim. He also held a workshop at the Regional Institute for Musical Training in Algiers. Read more, in Italian.
