China announces direct Rome-Chongqing flight
At a press conference, Hainan Airlines announced its plans for direct, twice weekly (Monday and Friday) flights between Rome and Chongqing, leaving Chongqing at 01:30 and arriving at 07:50 Italian time, and leaving Rome at 12:50 and arriving in Chongqing the next morning at 05:45 Chongqing time. The Vice President of Hainan Airlines said the flights would begin on 27 April. This will make Rome the main European stop for visitors from Chongqing (there is currently only one direct flight between Chongqing and Europe via Finnair to Helsinki, and another operated by Qatar Airways with a stopover in Doha).
