Cairo International Book Fair, the biggest such event in the Arab and African worlds, has opened its doors. Italy is taking part with a stand organised by the Italian Cultural Institute. Italian books being presented at the Fair include “Il costo della vita” by Angelo Ferracuti, “Il romanzo arabo al cinema” by Aldo Nicosia and “La guerra d’Europa, 14-18” by Maria Pace Ottieri and Andrea Amerio. Our stand will also feature books by Italian authors translated into Arabic, with a section dedicated to Sicilian authors including Verga, Camilleri, Sciascia, Pirandello and Brancati, and 36 illustrated children’s books translated into Arabic.
