The European foreign ministers meeting begins a week that promises to be a demanding one for European and international diplomats seeking a negotiated solution to the Ukraine crisis. Indeed, a European summit is scheduled in addition to the one already planned for Minsk. Italy’s contribution is founded on the only viable route, which is negotiations, a position reiterated by Minister Paolo Gentiloni during the recently concluded international security conference in Munich, which was also dominated by the critical situation in Ukraine.
