Five days of intense sessions, from 14 to 18 March, await the 2000 young people from 100 countries participating in the latest edition of Rome Model United Nations (RomeMUN), the largest simulation of the workings of the United Nations for university students in Europe. The 10 commissions will be tasked with using their best diplomatic gifts, in English, in a debate on the major themes of the 2015 EXPO: “Nourishing the Planet. Energy for Life”.
The “voice of youth”
“The RomeMUN”, executive director Daniela Conte underscored, “is a unique opportunity for its participants not only to engage in the dynamics of international politics, but is also a testing ground on which to express “the voice of youth” on the EXPO themes: nutrition, energy, sustainability and biodiversity.
The sessions
The sessions will begin at the LUISS Guido Carli University with an address by Ambassador of Brazil to Italy, H.E. Ricardo Neiva Tavares, and continue over the following days with a rich agenda of contributions by Italian and foreign diplomats and journalists who will offer the participants a framework of political instruments. The final day, which coincides with International Careers Day, will take place inside Eataly Roma, where the young people will be able to verify first-hand the opportunities for training and jobs in international relations.
