Tokyo – First retrospective for a Baroque master

Japan is hosting its first retrospective for Baroque master Guercino at Tokyo’s Museum of Western Art. The exhibition will be open to the public through 31 May and includes 44 works, some of them large-scale pieces, from various important collections. The exhibition is a concrete and significant example of Japan’s solidarity with the Pinacoteca of Cento, which suffered serious damage in the earthquake of May 2012. A solidarity for which Italian ambassador to Tokyo Domenico Giorgi expressed his gratitude, also thanking Japanese institutions for their generous contribution to the museum. Read more, in Italian.
