Dei – UAE: tenders to develop Dubai World Central to be launched in late 2015-early 2016

The first tenders for the development of Dubai World Central will be launched in late 2015-early 2016. The project is led by Dubai Aviation City Corporation-Dubai World Central, created in 2006 and owned by the government of Dubai. It will extend over an area of 140 square kilometres in the Jebel Ali, district, where EXPO Dubai 2020 will also be built.

The central project in the planned development will be Dubai’s new airport, Al Maktoum International Airport. Once fully up and running, and after an initial expenditure of over 30 billion USD, the airport is expected to handle 12 million tons of goods and 160 million passengers per year, making it one of the world’s major air terminals. Over time, the airport will also handle all Emirates Airlines and Flydubai operations. More economic news, in Italian, from China
