Ruanda – Turin commemorates the genocide and celebrates Consul Pierantonio Rocca

The Museum of the Resistance in Turin will commemorate the genocide in Ruanda by celebrating the Italian Consul in Kigali, Pierantonio Rocca, who saved the lives of about 2000 people, including 375 children. After screening the film “La lista del Console”, the Museum will host a discussion with Luciano Scalettari, co-author of the book on which the film is based; Consul Costa; the director, Alessandro Rocca; and Daniele Scaglione, author of “Rwanda. Istruzioni per un genocidio”. The event is part of the Italy-Africa Initiative promoted by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. Participants will include the Paris-based Ambassador of Ruanda with responsibility for Italy, Jacques Kabale Nyangezi, and Ambassador Gianfranco Verderame, Deputy President of the Farnesina’s Diplomatic Studies Association.
