Construction work has begun on a Chinese-Italian cultural promotion centre in Zunyi, a city of 6 million people in Guizhou Province. The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by numerous local politicians and officials and by the Italian Consul General in Chongqing, Sergio Maffettone.
In his speech, the Consul General invited authorities from the region to visit EXPO Milan along with local business people, and to also visit other Italian industrial and business centres. He reiterated Italy’s interest in inward Chinese investment and the importance of cultural exchanges between the two countries. The new centre will focus on cultural and commercial events dedicated to Italy. Read more, in Italian.
