The final event of a rich season of cultural initiatives inaugurated in May by the Embassy of Italy in Moscow celebrated the greatest scores of Italian cinema and some of our country’s best known contemporary composers. The evening was hosted by Italian ambassador Cesare Maria Ragaglini in his residence. “Our aim”, the ambassador said, is to improve, both quantitatively and qualitatively, what Italian culture offers Russia”. He also explained that efforts were also ongoing for a “highly symbolic project” to temporarily bring back to Russia the harpsichord and piano that Catherine the Great donated to Italian composers Giovanni Paisiello and Domenico Cimarosa when they left the court of the Czar and now preserved in Naples.
