The company operating the Xiyong free port in the municipality of Chongqing, headed up by the President, Zhang Dengwen, has conducted a road show in Italy. The aim was to present opportunities for collaboration with Italian companies in the export sector who are thinking of setting up in the new Euro Brand Centre opening in April 2016.
Zhang Dengwen took part as speaker in the panel dedicated to Chongqing at the Eurasia Workshop. He also had meetings with trade promotion bodies and members of the regional governments of Lazio (Lazio Innova), Umbria (deputy governor Paparelli and Centro Estero Umbria) and Lombardy (Promos). Over 2000 companies were represented in the meetings with the Chongqing group.
The advantages of the centre include the possibility of selling goods with tax exemption below the 500 renminbi level (about 40 euro) and obtaining exhibition spaces in the centre. The Euro Brand Centre will already begin operating this autumn, with the e-commerce platform that will also provide warehousing space adjacent to the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europa (Yuxinou) railway terminal. Xiyong free port is an integral part of the rail project that in future could act as an key channel for international trade as an alternative to sea and air transport.
