Madrid – From Ungaretti to Apollinaire: the Great War in the words of the poets

“La Guerra d’Europa 1914-1918 raccontata dai poeti” (published by Nottetempo) features the voice of Ungaretti, whose “San Martino del Carso”, written in 1916, recounted the drama of the front and trenches of the Great War. The book
also includes works by 52 other poets, including Apollinaire, Joyce, Pessoa and Mandel’štam, from 16 different countries. It was presented at the Italian Cultural Institute in Madrid in the presence of the authors, Andrea Amerio and
Maria Pace Ottieri, and the publishers, Ginevra Bompiani. Read more, in Italian
