The Italian Cultural Institute in Santiago and the Italian Embassy in Chile participate in the celebrations of the tenth anniversary of the foundation of Centro Cultural La Moneda in the Chilean capital, promoting the display of one of Sandro Botticelli’s most important works: the Madonna and Child with six Angels. The display, which is completely free of charge, will be held from January 14 to March 13. In the work, the author of the Birth of Venus and Spring once again shows his ability through the precision of the movement of the angels and the naturalness expressed by the posture of the Virgin Mary: proof of the perfection of Botticelli’s artistic language, which would go on to be a source of inspiration not only for the artists of the Renaissance but also for a great many others throughout the history of painting. The display of the Madonna and Child with six Angels will be the fulcrum of the celebrations of Santiago’s important cultural centre.
