The Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana will present the “All Night Long” photography and self-publishing workshop organised and hosted by Art House in Shkodër, north-west Albania. The night-long workshop will be conducted by Silvia Basso and Blerta Hocia in the night between Saturday Feb. 20 and Sunday, from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, and will explain how to hand-print photographs. The night will be divided into two parts: the first part will be dedicated to the production of photograms, while in the second part the images will be photocopied, cut and pasted to create a booklet, a copy of which will be given to all participants.
‘All Night Long’ photography and self-publishing workshop
The workshop, which is free of charge but is only open to a limited number of participants, is intended for students and artists who are passionate about manual photography and self-publishing. Silvia Basso is a graphic designer in Florence. In 2010, together with Giuliana Tammaro Branchie, she set up a non-profit area for projects by young artists and curators whose work contributes to reviving the local contemporary culture, breathing life into the city and overturning the stereotype of the gallery as nothing more than a lifeless showcase. Blerta Hocia is an artist and photographer in Tirana who studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. She has been the official photographer for the presidency of the Council of Ministers since January last year, and was one of the founders of the Miza Gallery, an art gallery displaying the contemporary art of young Albanian artists.
