The Italian car industry has been on show in Brussels at “Italia Car Passion” which has attracted 40,000 visitors. The “Autoworld” exhibition, displayed for two months in Brussels city-centre the excellence of the Italian industry with the most beautiful cars designed and manufactured in Italy, especially from the 1950s and 1960s. They came from private collections and Turin’s Museo dell’Automobile. The show represented all Italian car makes, Alfa Romeo, De Tomaso, Ferrari, Fiat, Lamborghini, Lancia, Maserati, including some designed by famous Italian car body designers such as Bertone, Giugiaro, Pininfarina and Touring Superleggera.

The exhibition included some rare masterpieces such as the 1952 Alfa Romeo Disco Volante and the 1967 Lamborghini Miura, as well as some recent racing cars such as the Lamborghini Veneno and the Maserati C12 Stradale Centenario. The museum set up an installation reproducing a piazza of a historic Italian town which included a winery and cafeteria. The Italian Ambassador in Brussels, Vincenzo Grassi, strongly supported the event, both at the press conference to present the show to the media and at the opening event. The embassy also posted tweets about the exhibition, promoted it on its website and distributed brochures.
