Dei – Turkey launches call for tenders to purchase 80 high-speed trains

Turkey’s Transport Minister, Binali Yildirim, announced the country is planning to purchase 80 high-speed trains by the middle of the year for 5-6 billion dollars. The ministry is considering buying 106 trains in total, according to a plan on extending Turkey’s high-speed rail transport. The project includes a train-coach manufacturing plant. The Turkish government intends to set up a high-speed railway network to connect 14 cities by 2023.
