The 22nd edition of “Marble Izmir” is underway. This marble fair has become one of the major events and a unique opportunity for the industry taking place in Izmir, on Turkey’s Aegean coast, until next Saturday. The event assembles entrepreneurs operating in the marble extraction sector and related technological activities. Italy is participating in the event with 62 Italian firms taking advantage of the opportunities offered by exhibiting in the newly installed exhibition area of Gaziemir. The Italian firms will be located around the government agency ICE (Italian Trade Promotion Agency) and the Confindustria Marmomacchine stands. On the ribbon-cutting day, the Italian Consul General in Izmir, Luigi Iannuzzi, presented Italian points of excellence in the marble extraction sector to local institutions and businesses, underlining the mutual opportunities to be grasped by Turkish and Italian firms. These institutional events will be followed by a meeting between ICE, Confindustria Marmomacchine, the Italian Consulate and Italian firms, which will take stock on the considerable and qualified presence of Italian firms in Turkey, especially in the Aegean region.
