“Italy Minsk Fashion” is back this year with the sixth edition of the international fashion show. Children and teenagers involved in UNICEF Belarus cooperation projects will be taking to the catwalk. It is a unique opportunity for them to interact with the world of fashion, which also raises public awareness on issues such as childcare initiatives. On show will be the Autumn-Winter 2016-2017 collections of clothes and accessories by prestigious Italian brands seeking to develop their presence in the Belarusian market. “Demand for made in Italy clothes and accessories remains high in Belarus and has weathered international crises,” said Stefano Bianchi, the Italian Ambassador in Minsk.

He went on: “The success of the Minsk event testifies to the staunch and growing presence of Italian fashion in Belarus in all market sectors, from luxury to medium-high range”. This explains the Italian Embassy’s work in “promoting Italian fashion in Belarus, from established brands to young emerging Italian fashion designers, who will also take part in Belarus’s Fashion Week”. The event agenda also includes meetings between Italian producers and Belarusian distributors, as well as a master class to exchange expertise and production techniques, centred on Italian fashion trends for the coming season. “We are prisoners of our prejudices and stereotypes, whereas we should create the conditions for everyone to express their full potential,” said Rashed Mustafa Sarwar, from the United Nations Children’s Fund. “That is why UNICEF promotes an inclusive society based on equal opportunities, in which every adult and child can make his own tangible contribution and develop his full potential.”
