Italian Development Cooperation has allocated more than two million euros to carry out feasibility and environmental impact studies and projects to be implemented in Albania. The inter-governmental agreement “Project Facility for Feasibility Studies and Final Projects in the Infrastructure Sector” was recently signed at the Albanian Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure by Transportation Minister Edmond Haxhinasto and the Italian Ambassador in Tirana, Alberto Cutillo. The agreement specifically concerns several projects, including doubling the carriageway of the road from Milot to Schkoder and upgrading the important North-South highway axis to Montenegro, the road from Vaqarr to Kavaje (a municipality of Tirana) and the Elbasan by-pass, which directly involves the East-West road axis as this city lies on the road from Durres to Qafe Thane.
