Italy is showcasing the excellence of its food and wine in India, with a view to promoting partnerships and conquering new market shares in a workshop called “The Sweet Taste: Business Opportunities & Perspectives for Italian Food and Wine in India” on April 27 in New Delhi. Francesco Pensabene, the director of the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) office in New Delhi, said: “It aims to promote the concept of Italian food and wine, disseminate information and show new ways of introducing Italian products on the Indian market. We want to raise awareness of Italian gastronomic excellence and to encourage Italian companies to explore new business opportunities in India, cooperating even further with Indian companies.”

At the event, which will be held at the Leela Palace, several of the biggest names in Italy’s food and wine industry will address the major distributors, buyers, associations, hotel groups, chefs, sommeliers and representatives of the Indian food sector. Indian and Italian experts will present workshops on olive oil, fruit and wine. On schedule will also be cooking demonstrations by Italian chefs and wine tasting sessions for the best of Italy’s wines and sparkling wines.
