Tel Aviv – Francesca Selva Dance Company debuts in Israel

The Francesca Selva Dance Company is making its debut in Israel presenting “Bitter Love”. The show, co-produced with the Theatre du Centre Festival Avignon OFF 2014, sees Silvia Bastianelli and Andrea Rampazzo interpret Francesca Selva’s choreography under Marcello Valassina’s direction. Following a first performance in the Southern city of Mitzpe Ramon as part of the “Hangar Adama” International Festival, tomorrow the company will be in Jerusalem to inaugurate the Machol Shalem Dance House, a new studio dedicated to dance and art in the heart of the Musrara neighbourhood. Francesca Selva  held two choreography workshops while in Mitzpe Ramon. The Company’s performances and training events are made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institute in Tel Aviv. Marcello Valassina said: “We will go to Tel Aviv and Jerusalem on Saturday being fully aware that this is one of the many difficult times for those living in fear and constantly under siege in Israel. We wish to show out respect for their sorrow and hope that our art can help smooth it somehow. It is no coincidence that we have chosen “Bitter Love’, a show telling the daily life of two lovers passing through conflict to regain peace.”
