Italy is taking part in the 12th BIPOD Festival -Beirut International Dance Platform, organised by the Maqamat Dance Theater Association. The Italian Institute of Culture in Beirut, directed by Edoardo Crisafulli, sponsored and financially supported “Untitled: I’ll be there when you die”, a performance choreographed by Alessandro Sciarroni and hosted at Hamra’s Al Madina Theatre. It is in one of the historic parts of the Lebanese capital which was very fashionable for its intense cultural and night life. Alessandro Scarroni, an emerging artist with an impressive international career, is an important innovator in visual arts, theatre and dance.
The Festival also features an event devoted to research and experimentation in contemporary dance in the Arab world. The Farnesina sponsored eight art directors at BIPOD from major dance companies and cultural associations organising dance festivals in Italy.
