Turkey: energy distribution will be privatised by 2020
The distribution of electricity in Turkey will be privatised by 2020, announced the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Berat Albayrak. He said the distribution grid supplies almost 40 million citizens over an area of 780,000 square kilometres. The Turkish grid is the fifth largest in the world and the second largest in Europe. The minister said 101 billion Turkish lira will be spent over the next 10 years on electricity distribution.
